In this position, I researched the specific regulations and requirements for occupations listed in the Knee Centers’ database. Collecting and manually updating our database on each occupation’s educational and experience requirements, their required fees, age requirements, and others. All are maintained in our in-house database for legislators, Policy Makers, Researchers, and the general public to utilize. I have also contributed to drafting Op-Eds for the Knee Center, where we comment on the latest news or research findings in the occupational regulatory sphere. With the Op-Eds being submitted to different new outlets or on the Centers’ blog.

I assisted in planning and reviewed the needed tasks for the Economic Forecast with the overseeing Professors and my fellow Research Assistants. During this project we gathered and compiled necessary data for the Huntington region. We collected news articles regarding significant events in the regional economy. I applied Econometric techniques and critiqued the statistical models with the overseeing professors present. I also assisted in creating data visualizations using Excel and Powerpoint that I and another group member assembled using the data collected on the region. My group drafted a written report detailing our findings for the Huntington Region and prepared the visualizations in the presentation. Afterwards we presented our forecast for the region to local leaders from the Huntington area. The report was published by the Bureau of Business and Economic Research

I welcome groups in our lobby and addressed the rules and tips before bringing them into their game. Afterwards, I start their game and moderate the group’s progress and direct them using clues if the groups become stuck on one of the puzzles. We must make sure the clues are formatted in such a way such that the groups can understand how to work the puzzle without given the answer away. When the games have finished, I congratulate and complement the groups on their performance and make sure they have a good time even if the group did not make it out of their game. In between games I tabulate the number of games for the day, t-shirt and wristband sales using google sheets spreadsheets. In addition to working closely with fellow coworkers to coordinate who will be running which game for the most recent time slots.
